Pandemic – Thoughts on Future Personal Spending and Budgeting

I usually do not prepare much when I am writing a post.
I just type it down just like how my brain wants me to say.
I have read through some of my previous journals and I am happy I did that last time. (although reading them back make me cringe SO much), but I've realised I've also grown so much as a person mentally!

For the next phase of MCO, I would like to type out my thought in here and let it be jotted down as a journal for my future references.

It has been a while since I write my last post, in fact, 4 years. Major contribution definitely is the MCO; that has left me with so much free time.

It is also scary to see how this pandemic is causing big downward spiral of the economy.
To be honest, to us, or at least to me, the impact of this pandemic on my job, at this moment (DAY41), is still not quite apparent. We receive our basic pay as usual for the past 2 months (without entering to the office). Our allowance, however, has been deducted throughout the MCO period.
I think this decision is fair, since we are not even travelling to get and coordinate projects. No project is moving and neither is our production line.

I presume after this pandemic is over, our company is going to be more conservative in restructuring its budget allocation. Of course, one of those plans is to be more conscious on overhead allocation. This means that the chances of getting pay raise is lesser. I have to accept the fact that bonuses will get lesser. And this trend will remain for at least 3-5 years.

In fact, this is the nature of my job. I am working in a manufacturing company which supply construction-related materials. When construction field is slowed down, so does our company.
Unlike other field, eg: logistic and shipping, education, F&B related where the demand is still on-going, I can see they can recover in a faster pace than us.

One thing I have to look at is for sure to diversify my income sources. Active income for me is a must as those are the income that is more realistic and grounded. Passive income like investing has its risks. Besides, I have lower interest towards managing its risks and to full time study its strategy. Juggling between my work and investing is also challenging for me.

So all in all, the only thing I have to do right now is to be mentally prepared to cut down on spending. The best measure is to have a change in my lifestyle. Spend less and be more money conscious.

1.      To cut down on vacation trips (this is one of the most painful decision that I have to make)
2.      Spend lesser online on insignificant things
3.      Stop chasing for latest gadget trend
4.      Opt for cheaper alternatives for social lunch, gym, etc.

To be clear, I think I don’t dramatically spend on something useless or unnecessary. See, I don’t subscribe Netflix or Spotify (well for obvious reason, it is not a necessity for me and we can get it online for *cough* free *cough* anway). I don’t change my phone that often (the last time I upgrade my phone was a 4 years old iPhone). I do, however, LOVE traveling with my friends and family (but we always opted for cheaper places mainly ASEAN region). I am not a sneaker head (I don’t really understand this hobby). I seldom go for expensive fancy restaurant. (well, I’m still a Single motha-fakkaaa). So basically I am quite a boring person in general.
Basically the above is still manageable and the only thing I need to remind myself is that I don’t “progress” myself into the type of mindset where spending more on luxurious is equivalent to more happiness.

I have trust in my own company, but I low-key think that the future prospect is going to be tough. I sincerely hope that everything will go back to normal, and for me, progress forward as smooth as the past 4 years in the company.

See you in the next post.

Nonsense 2016.. what have I done?

I have been too addicted to mobile phone gaming lately.
once I came back from work I will drained up my phone battery just by keep playing the game..
then go to bed.. then wake up for work, and come back from work again just to play the game.. and repeat.
and that is how I spend my time after work for almost everyday.
#worklifebalance #wtf

I know this has to stop.
But till now I still unable to figure out how to do that.

thank god I still have the realisation that I know this ain't good for me.

So here I am, back at it again blogging.
I am here blogging cos I know I have to change!
Like what I usually do every year, I write my 'goals' here,
and when I know I have written them down.. I will have the responsibility to accomplish it!

Although not every aims I have written down are fully resolved, but I am happy at least I am aware of what should I do and try to do that.

This leads me of thinking why there are a saying which says that: "Don't tell your goals to somebody or you will not achieve them".
I don't think this theory is completely true.
Sometimes if we tell somebody of what we want to achieve in the future, we tend to have the pressure applies to ourselves, or rather, a goal.. a motivation.. for us to have hope, and try our best to achieve it.

Goals for me can have a lot of definitions..
Goals can be as small as :
1. To spend less time on FB
2. To play only half an hour maximum on mobile game daily
3. To spend less time on YouTube watching nonsense videos =..=!! (BuzzFeed wtf bullshit and tempting at the same time) making people less productive for so many years.
4. To spend more time reading.. books/article
5. To reward myself sometimes a.k.a. to be less stingy.. lol. saving up and don't know how to spend. wtf
6. To spend less time in the living room (ok.. this is getting too specific.. this is not a goal wtf LOL)

Goals can be as big as :
1. To be good at what I am doing (the definition of good? still unclear.. (I have to write a separate post about this later))
2. Find a partner in crime (not trying to force it.. but.. I know it will be bad for me if I still refuse/have the guts to commit in a relationship)

So!
2017 is about the year of CHANGE. In a better way.
I have a lot of things to express.. but ain't no other way better to express other than writing them down.

So fingers crossed.
Here comes another new year, and growing another year older.. before hitting mid-life crisis..

Treat me better 2017!

Blogging is time consuming..
Usually a blog post like this will cost me an hour..
because of my limited vocab.. and constantly wanted to read back.. (suck at blogging)
so I have no intention to write a blog as often as what I did during school/uni time.
depends on mood tho.. I enjoy blogging anyway.

Talk the Talk

You know I have came out with a new plan for myself, that is, to not waste time on TV and mobile games.. and don't spend too much time sitting in the living room.. cos I am not doing something productive..
So I came back blogging instead.
also not something to be proud of... LOL!

No lah, at least I am spending more time in front of my lappy browsing info and start reading few pages of some useful books.. *achievement unlock*

Then I stumbled across this post that I drafted super long time ago since I was still in the university.
Super funny reading back and decided to post it now.
I think it is not so overdue yet lah hor. XD

****

So I was eating biscuit in my hostel room while enjoying my web-surfing time after the stressful exam. It was the last piece of my absolute favourite biscuit and I decided to be a gentleman and offer to share to my roommate if he would like to have it. *pat my back for always being so considerate* lol
He look at the cookie for a moment and told me he was full and thanked me for sharing.
wtf

Then the next week I manage to 'reload' these biscuit.
(The freaking soul of my room is back to me again! wtf)

So I opened up the new pack of biscuit and decided to share them again with my friend. This was already my second attempt for offering, but still he rejected it.
Ohhhh...
At this point, I understand that he possibly does not enjoy eating this type of biscuit.

Talk about being thoughtful, this is definitely a more rounded and well-mannered way one can reject something he/she doesn't want it.
Being sharp and direct to people is not a bad idea, but a well-packaged choice of word is always accepted by many.
(At least at that point one would not feel so hurtful when got rejected right lolol)
And, sometimes it is also important for a person to get the whole situation clear.
Not getting a scenario clear is like not having a common sense, and it is awful.
Fundamentally, it is up to the good fisher to hook up fishes even if the lake has not many fishes.

Talk about lunch.
Lunch is not only about the overpriced ayam merah, your hungry stomach, or posting #foodporn to Instagram.
Lunch has a total another way of meaning in it.
Normally we have our lunch together in a round table in our faculty's cafeteria. At that moment, I can't deny that sometimes me and my friends have a clear distinct kinda topic to talk about. At certain moment it is all acceptable.
But once we are showing disinterest, stop being selfish and start acting smarter. Jump out of your you-think-it-is-interesting topic and start talking something everyone can relate. At least that is the bottom line out of all the reasons of a gathering is all about right. We call each other friends because we all have something in mutual and common. Start talking those. No one would ever enjoy one-way talking. Two ways communication~~
Down to the point, it is still up to a person to have a common sense to realise that one-way talking is not anything better to you yourself too.
And start knowing what your friend is doing lately.. not just some virtual topics that you thought we both enjoy it very much, well, at least I am not enjoy talking those. Very awkward indeed.

At the end of the day, it is up to us to decide whether we prefer to walk with the person who is walking using both legs or back-flipping all the time.

***

That was how I felt during that time and started writing all the psycho post as above. lol

Okay I started to miss all the ups and downs and all the crappy nonsense that happened in my uni.
People might think that the people in the engineering faculty is boring. But to me, it is not about how many activities that you have joined throughout your uni life, but to make friends that can make fun of each other, and not angry about it.
and most importantly having a common interest in talking same kinda trash.
Not just a hi-bye friend that you will meet at the other corner of the campus and walk away.
I am lucky lahhhhhhh~

These people are part of the crazy gang:

Picture is taken on the last day of staying in Kolej 10.
(*nothing related to the above post, but kinda related cos it's part of my university life)
:D

My Working Life : The Day I Quit My Job

Don't know if I am suppose to write this in the blog.. feel that when I become famous one day all the people will dig this out and scandalize me *PUIIIIII* #behpaiseh

But seeing my blog has documented so many of my past stories.. reading them some of them make me cringe, but some of them make me smile so much.
how innocent I am whining about my life, which makes me look so dumb. eventhough now still not smart
and sometimes I feel like deleting my blog and start a whole new one so that all these dumb memories can never be brought back to me.
however, thinking back to this.. I feel like all these blog posts are super precious! all my life has been documented down at that particular moment when I felt that way.
Take it as the part of the process in life yo!!
Always stay positive! I wanted my post to be in this way too because I am afraid if I do it the other way around, the next time I read back all the negative energy will brought back to me. #tooabstract lol

To write about my working life is literally only thing I can write now.
Cos that is what I am all about now...

People is surprised when I say I have changed my job.
As a fresh graduate with less than a year of working experience changing a new job seems to give people a not-so-welcoming impression to yourself.
Personally, dealing with all of these is not easy too.

I broke down many times before I have decided to hand in the resignation letter.
I did not tell anyone about this.
My parents were kinda shocked when I told them I have resigned from my last company.
Just kinda.. not really really shocked.., I think they have predicted this day will come, but not so soon, and just.. still a bit beyond what they have expected that I would do.

Only come to realise is that I have been so naive and mentally un-prepare for all the work flow and the nature of the work that threw to me in such a short time.
It is not a bit at all that I have issues with the boss or colleagues.. My boss even wanted to give me a raise in pay.
Rather than saying I am still not able to cope with the company's environment, I would say it is more about the nature of the job.
I thought I am capable and mentally prepared! But I have to admit I am not!
I broke down part of the reason is that I have found my weakness and I cannot deal with it.
I gave myself so much unnecessary pressure despite I can just let it go.
I brought home so much of the emotion in work back to home.
and this is wrong.
absolutely soooooooooo wrong!! A BIG NO NO!!

So I stopped.
and started thinking what to do with my life now. ha-ha, LKW, you have no choice but to stand up and move on. people are running and you just stop down? not even slowing down but stop it completely. wtf

I started browsing for new job.
I have only few months of experience in this industry.
I have received so little feedback from all the company that I have sent in my application.
the industry is slowing down.
that is the reason.
I always thought it was just a saying people will talk about in the kopitiam.
and at that moment of my life I started to felt it.
what if no company wants to take me?
Is it I am not good enough?
Did I made a wrong decision?
what is the next step I am going to do?

all these questions keep shooting in to my mind.

I took things for granted. That was the lesson learnt.
NEVER TAKE EVERYTHING FOR GRANTED!
Just when I thought changing a new environment could be better for me, I was so wrong.
I don't even have the chance to be in the new environment now.

That was inner struggle that I have been through from this process.
The insecurity hit me so hard.
I just need someone to understand that I have no choice but to move to a new environment, but I need support. I need people to listen and understand... but I felt embarrassed to talk about it to my friends.

and then almost a month later I received several interview invitations. (I have sent in more than 15 applications)
and I received several offers.
thank god.
all the negative thoughts that hit me during that time has instantly flushed down to the drain.
but I know I need to calm down and make this important decision.
and to always remember all the lesson that I have learnt from this painful experience and to make a decision that will not make me regret again.
I need to decide on my career, this is not just plainly a job for me.

It took me 2 weeks to reply the offers.
I sincerely grateful and thanked them for their offer. Thank you for seeing my capability and giving me a chance to offer me a position in your company.
They saved me from all the insecurity in my heart. Indirectly, they build all my confident back.

and then I made this decision to be in my current company.
gotten my confirmation.
thank god.
I am all good now..
I hope all my family and friends are happy for me too...

I have learnt so much from this experience.
I can't imagine when this happened to me for the first time when I am at my 30s or 40s.
I know I have to stepped up the game. I need to be more competitive.
and not to be this weak anymore.
I really mean it.

It also makes me realise the priority in my life.
There so much of ego in me. I can feel it.
I don't know why but career to me right now at this point is everything to me.
I feel like all the dramas that I have had from my past that I tend to care so much has become so minimal to me. I am paralysed to these. Numb and no feeling towards it.
hahaha.. tell me I am old now.

ohhh wait..
my Clash Royale notification has just popped up.

the clan needs me!
*entering battle and fully focused*

wait.. ehem.
what is my priority now?
OPSSSSSSSSSSS
.
.
.
.
hit me baby one more time. *britney spears' impersonation*
SUPER RANDOM ENDING LAH DUHHHHH!!!

Motivation need to recharge

We have been surrounded by competition along the way when we grow up.

Kindergarten
Aunties Uncles will be asking if I get 100 for my test. And start comparing with their kids.

Primary School
Remember the time when smart student is the coolest kid in the class?
We all want to be the kid that every other kids look up to. This motivation develop within me and makes me want to study harder.
I remember I will jot down the result of the top 3 kids in the class just to keep track of their progress.

KIASU to the MAX LAH OI.
HAHAHA
#stillaloser

Secondary School
Parents send us to tuition. 10 subjects yo. #badass #IKR
We study from morning 7am till 11pm.
Thinking back those days.. the amount of effort we put into study.. it is CRAZY right!!

But I enjoy it very much.
Cos I am always surrounded by these peer pressure. Positive peer pressure = Motivation.
And during one class, few months before SPM, my add math tuition teacher told us everyone about motivation, to set priority, to know your goals.
That was the time my motivation MAX out like crazy. Instant level up! #toomuchgaming

I believe motivation need to be recharged constantly.
I dunno if there is a proverb or quote or phrase for that, but I truly believe that.

Stepped into the society almost a year now (2 months from now), my motivation dropped so much.
Working with no purpose is no good for me.

I need to start develop the habit of reading. and surround with motivated people, inspiring people, and open my ears and listen and learn from them.

LKW, stop phone gaming and TV and YOUTUBE! and FB.

lol

start reading!!!!

(the inner me: I DONT LIKE TO READ!!! NOT EVEN CELEBRITY ARTICLE LAH AHHHHHHH)

Not Motivated. FML.

I still remember when I was in a book fair and holding this book titled "Idiot's Guide: Business Success in your 20s and 30s.
I flipped through some pages, and then my friend ask me if I will read it.
it is only RM8. I thought it is a good deal.
"Books will not expired".

dust-off.

and now.
this book still stay beside my bed.
I am lazy like this.
and it seems like it expire soon.

lol

Will this idea explode?

I like to create.
From creating a storyline for my comic book since I was small, to creating new content for my blog. (although the blog is dead lol)
and creating excuses for my client wtf

I am still excited when I saw a blank sheet of A4 paper. and a pencil.
I will start doodling all the way. so much fun.

till recently I get to know the latest hype where apparently people relieve their stress by colouring a colouring book.
The first time I saw the book in the bookstore I was like ''mehh... what is so secret about this garden" (the name of the book is secret garden or something like that)
and then I flip behind and look at the price.. whatttttttt? go and get a cheaper one at the kindergarten section! they have flowers and humming bird too.

(fun fact: even the feng shui sifu Lilian Too has published her own good luck fortune colouring book wtf check it out at the mid valley feng shui store!)

and then it got me thinking.. what for people willing to spend so much on something so simple where they can get it/do it themselves.

and how this hype started at the first place? colouring book only mah~~~ mehhhhhh!!

It's because of the chain reaction!!

but eventually a hype will only retain at its peak for only maximum of 2 to 3 years, based on my observation lah.
you can see from a lot of the examples too:

candy crush, angry birds, flappy birds?
and remember those days when we love to Q up for so long just for a cup of chatime?
even a lot of the cafe in taman botanic is closing down after the hype is not there anymore lolol. sorry being too specific lol.

where am I now? hahaha
my blog content is getting more all over the place.
fear not!

because I am gonna make a important announcement
I am gonna start a comic/drawing FB page soon!
which I have been planning to do it for sooooooooooooo long!!
one thing of course is because of the hype, and of course: I love to create.

so it has not been officially started yet but I have already drafted out a few ideas.
hopefully more to draft..

The content will be more on the life I am facing right now. More focus on the drawing and not too much on the wording.
I hope to make it to be something that is more relate-able to everyone as a worker working in a company, and for those who interested to see my life as an engineer. (chehh.....nama engineer glam jer, but work like cow and the pay like bullshit wtf lol)
which I find it interesting cos "engineers" is too mysterious for everyone.
The main stream media don't normally talk about this job and how the work life.

I hope I can post more often.
but it will be in only chinese lah cos I think that that is the only way I can express myself more straight to the point and easier for me too. @@''

will try to keep the FB page to be secret and hope not to let anyone know is me cos I wanted to keep myself to be more anonymous to the viewer so that I can post more of my real working life as an engineer so far...

I think it will be interesting right?

don't answer me, I don't care!! hahaha

hope when the page is officially out it will explode in several months.  XD

cheh!!
sweet dream or beautiful nightmare?~~~~

to make the blog more fancy:
here is a portrait of me, drawn by a waiter in Jonny Rocket.
kthxbye.

baka...

I still remember those days when I used to compete with my friend who will be the one who know the latest pop song that tops the billboard chart first. I will be constantly on Spotify listening for new potential songs that were added into the playlist (kiasu wtf).
and I carefully analyse and listen to the lyrics/flow of the song. if the song connects and has a good vibe, I will be the first to share it with them.
and when the song become super popular later I will feel super accomplished. *punch fist to the air

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Those days were just 3 months back!

At this moment of my life, working 9 to 9 wtf. come back home dinner (or supper or whatever you like to call it its already 9 wtf) finally able to loosen up the intensed-ambience that I have been already bearing it for  the last 10 hours. and feeling super tired. don't even feel like doing anything at that point of my life. not even want to think. just have my brain be empty.

and when I come to realise it will be 12am and I should be on my bed sleeping.

swiping FB looking at my friend posting his own cooks
somehow make me admire them so much because they can still have the time to develop new hobby while working.

work life is tough. tougher than how I used to imagine.
cos I used to be just surrounded by job that I am familiar with... mom is an accountant, dad working on business, relatives were all working on either business or administrator work. teachers, lecturers, logistic industry, retail shopping mall.. that's all.

as a fresh graduate that newly step into engineering industry, must have a tough heart to face it.

future can be bright. but bright is subjective.
it depends whether if you want it this way. 80% of the day is occupied with works. and some people in this industry are even crazier, work till midnight and come back on weekend to work.
pay is attractive of course. but does it really worth it?

maybe it is just me being too vulnerable? or still unable to settle down.

thanks to Haji holiday I get to have the time to make my plan and to think about what is my next step a little bit.

and then I came across this post when I was swiping FB.. which I find it should be something that I should ponder about.

Signs that shows that a man is not mature:

1 think and don't do
2 like to make excuses
3 bring home shitty emotion from work
4 too honest to talk about the past relationship
5 make too much promises that cannot be kept
6 express all kinda emotion too easily
7 easily trust the 'no's by woman
8 no savings

things guys shouldn't be doing:

1 no vision and objective
2 wasting time
3 too dependent
4 not decisive
5 not planning for future
6 reject to any kind of advice
7 not ready to commit in a relationship

yes.
hit me so hard in de face.

haiz.

baka....

Beyond The Four Walls of the Lecture Room

So one day my friends were in my room again for chit chating session.
They usually will talk about something that does not interest me much. Then this guy started to talk about how when he was little he likes to dismantle his toy car and look at how the mechanical part works, and reassemble back after modification. All of the sudden the rest of my friends join in and say they were doing the same thing when they were still young. and the discussion went on and on...

wtf
Nope.

Don't look at me.

"I used to own a toy car of course!"

I just don't like to dismantle the toy car and freak out when it does not move anymore after I reassemble it back.

TOY CARS ARE EXPENSIVE!

what I like to play with most of my McDonald's Disney toys is to create a story for them. Let all the character from different storyline to blend in into my imagination.
I draw decorative ~ plants! buildings! school buses! so that my story looks more real!
hahaha wtf

talk to this bunch of engineer friends makes me look extraordinary.
I have already knew it since the first day of my study in UPM taking up this course.

I prefer reading interesting stories, listening to new songs, talking crap with friends..
But being super realistic, I realise how important taking up useful degree major can get me a more secure career in the future.
That is the reason why until now I still don't feel regret taking up something that I don't particularly enjoy.

Career talk after career talk after career talk, I have learned how demanding this field is, and how competitive it is. and thanks to our faculty, that has created quite many opportunities for us to expose to these motivating events.

But somehow after four years of study, being a super 0% dummy about circuitry fundamental, Electrical and Electronic Engineering this course has done several knowledge injections to me and has already make me wanted to be more aware and concern about the happenings in this field.

Engineering in this campus, in my opinion is good.
They offers a lot of facilities that it is up to you to explore.
Student activities? yes.
Career opportunity? yes.
Overseas exchange opportunities? sure. just ask and apply!
Environment wise, ...?
Environment as in a lot of trees, lake side library, air conditioning in lecture room/hall, is superb.
but environment as in people in this faculty? hmmm.. it is up to you to decide. of course there are few of them in the circle are very competitive, which is good, cos all we want is to get influence by each other of this 'competitiveness' or 'positive mindset'.

other than that, being in the final year final semester in UPM, it makes me realise I have learned something so much else beyond this.
Here is to name a few:

1. Too much group photos

From first year till final year. lol
from photo after photo

group photo

group photo

 another group photo
and another 300 more group photos with coursemates. lol

2. The ultimate "scissors"/"peace" hand sign is the ultimate photo posing sign

even when they are drunk. still remember the scissors.

scissors

scissors

after scissors

3. Not knowing how to dress up ourselves
First world problem in engineering faculty worldwide? I suppose haha LOL
but taste getting better compare to first year la hahahaha (with guilt*)

4. Apparently Facebook is your working place
we are on there almost more than 12 hours a day.

we discuss assignment and report announcement there! No FB you will stuck in another class. Serious!

5. You take a long nap. like a really loooong nap..
"har kah wai?? you are not napping today? this is weird! I better buy lottery!"

6. You know your university is not so 'advance' when they proudly say that your residential college is the only hostel that has elevator. and people proudly cheer to this matter. "OHHHHH!! ELEVATOR!! AUMMMMM KOLEJ 10!"

7. You learn how to help people wipe their asses.
group work. tonnes of shit. everyone knows that.

8. You learn how to wipe one's shoes.
Apparently people freak out when I say 40% weightage for final exam is our score allocation standard. The rest are assignments and tests. and you will learn very well how to get the 60%.

just saying. lol

9. Night life? too luxurious for us! milo ais.. yes please.

10. We work on the very last minute. literally the last minute.
we are productive like that.
panda eyes everyone!

other than that,
what I've learnt the most is, my university life is quite awesome lah.

***********
side note:
trying to clear up all the draft post (about my university life) that I have saved/written since long time ago..
started my working life already and will blog about it soon..
new phase of my life..
where the people surrounding me (i.e. my colleagues) are all talking about mid-life crisis and stuff.

=.=''

2015 first post + Taiwan

2015 first post! yay!

finally lah
has the time and effort to write blog. (blame more on the effort lol)

it's already February! woww
blog post is so inconsistent
thanks also to my hectic busy final year,
but still feel very blessed anyway cos everything went quite smoothly at the moment.

sometimes we tend to complain a lot how rough we live our life but I think we need to appreciate the good moment also, be fair mahhhh *nod nod

anyway, all is well. #guanyinblessing

just came back from a 10-days vacation in Taiwan.
not too bad i would say. but not as good as what i have expected it to be.
thought of writing my trip as to make it more informative and useful for reference, but nah, i'm too old to write this stuff. leave it to others lol #noeffort #nomotivation

anyway, okay lah, Taiwan is not that difficult to travel to provided if you know how to read and speak in Chinese. everything is quite convenient.
do some research on the good food and cheap hostel. then for sure your trip will be within your budget and can experience the best out of it.

RM3k for 10 days how about that? not that bad huh.
lucky me and my another friend made some effort on research. duhhh...
and be smart lah. plan ahead is one thing, but to have common sense is another important thing : the primary advice for every traveller who wish to travel to other country, especially without experience.
starting from buying air ticket till airport check-in till back to Malaysia KLIA2, just.. be smart lah. wtf

okay lah some photos for "compulsory condition" for writing a sort-of vacation blog post. haha

THE POSITIVE ENERGY

So what prompted me to write a blog post on this unusual day?
choose one?
1) today is the unproductive Sunday and tomorrow is a public holiday (another soon-to-be-unproductive day wtf)
2) procrastinating my study time
3) fingertip too pain after practising guitar
4) feeling lonely
5) I left my G2 refill in the hostel and I have no blue ink pen to write my notes
6) feeling disappointed and helpless for not knowing how to deal with the reality that I got the JACKPOT for my final year project

the answer is.......
all of the above!!

OMG!

before starting my final year I have the visions all written in my calender book, saying that I need to be super ambitious and focus on my final year.

I think I've written something like this:

"YES YOU HANDSOME GUY, FINAL YEAR IS ALL ABOUT NOT TAKING UP UNNECESSARY RISKS. YOU KNOW YOU ARE DUMB, AND NOT AS EXCEL AS OTHER STUDENT, BUT STILL A HANDSOME PRINCE ^^V"

my motivational quote, ambitious ya? wtf
jk lah.

but what I wanted was to 'peacefully' score all of the papers for the last 2 semester and graduate.
but something is just not meant to be planned!!
REALLY?!!
You don't choose the thug life, the thug life chooses you!!!!!

I still remember what I filled up for my title was those 'I think I can handle this' kinda title.
but..
I got 'selected' to do the best title ever. literally.

I bet no one ever wanted to choose that title even the top scorer, cos we all know it is going to be very hard.
but sometimes when you are afraid of something, it just comes back to you.
ishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

but since rice already become porridge,
must well just face it.
*sigh*
I know it will be super duper sipek super challenging.
dealing it for one year is no joke.

but ya..
the only thing I can do is to keep my head held high.

to have the spirit like Bruce Lee!
ATAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

and of course.. to do super well in this semester..
cos something is not meant to be planned!!!

BRING IT ON!!!!!

Punch card !

"Ehhh.. you finishing your study on next year June?" my mum came and ask me while I'm packing my stuff for my new semester.

"ahh.. Ya lah."

wait

wait

wait WHAT?

I'm finishing my undergraduate course next year?!! I started cold sweating so much.
My palms were like Iron man except sweat was coming out instead of a very cool lighting beam. wtf

I still can't believe it! One more freaking year I will be started working in this cruel reality world! OH NOoooooOOOOoooOO!

Ya lah ya lah, the above statement is totally a statement what a fresh grad would make. *roll eyes*
But I'm not trying to be hipster also lah, when I am genuinely si beh worry I would voice out. wtf

Especially after I got the chance to expose myself to real working environment that is related to my field.
Not like any part-time work with no pressure, no responsibilities and money I was earning was so "easy". "Easy" as in don't need to pay bill, pay loan, pay gas, etc etc. NET INCOME I MEAN COME ON! lol

Also, people must be thinking, itu lah, tak pernah pergi luar tengok masa muda, skang baru risau.
Not really also lah, I must deny that. I have the experiences working in a real office environment also, not only part time work very care-free type of environment. I have experiences working with real working bosses and bossy person also. lol fml
That is the reason why I am concious that me myself is not looking forward to end my university life so fast. *wipe tears*

Looking back at my previous blog posts, I have been a very diligent person to upload a "it's time to go back university" post every starting of a new semester.
One thing that is stupid about the university system is that they have this very long semester break for us to "rest". 3 freaking months is too long in my opinion.
But I felt like I have made full use of my long semester break in every semester.
1st year : HKUST summer school
2nd year : Attended sister's graduation ceremony in London
3rd year : Industrial training

so no complain also.
So instead of worrying so much, why not face it.
This time my "it's time to go back university" post will be all about me myself to get ready for the real working environment!
One more year!!
I need to believe myself that one more year I would have to make my mindset very very clear.
Be super ambitious! And FOCUS! AND BELIEVE!

This new semester year is all about FOCUS! GETTING ORGANISED!

and LOOK!

WHAT A MOTIVATIONAL POST I HAVE CREATED.

*chehhh*

but ya lah.

and of course to reduce going onto FB and YouTube so much.

and blogging.

and new movies.

and new reality shows.

and sleeping so much.

and taking a nap too long.

and to be consistent.

and to stop crapping so much un-nutritious topics with coursemates.

and to stay away from drama in real life.

and to stop being a third person.

and to start practising good healthy lifestyle.

and not sure if I can make it.

and still gonna try.

at least for the first month lah.

never try never know mah

and I am staying 7th floor in my new semester

and if the elevator not functioning then I have to sleep in the cafeteria.

and OMG STOP THE CRAPPPPP!!!!!!

The Classy Kampung Boy!

I have been very busy with my industrial training lately.
I have never expected this at all.

I thought internship for student suppose to be in the office on time, sit in front of a PC, pretend to look at some document when boss is around, swipe FB on phone when boss is not around, eating cheap subsidised lunch in a canteen, make new friends, meet up with bunch of passionate colleagues, and punch card out of office on time.
BUT NO! I could not be more wrong!
Not trying to whine about it.. cos someday job hunter might dig this post up and be very disappointed with me this talented guy. wtf

But I have sooooooooooo much to talk about it. I understand this thing is not supposed to be converted into black and white and posted online.
I also understand I cannot always bring all these useless working stress crap back home.

Now I know why people always say 'everyone needs a good listener'.
#lonely #mrlonely

anyway, I think I have been a very generous blogger already.
as you can tell I have always been soooooo ready to talk about my personal thing here.
I felt like I am almost naked in this (as in things and thoughts happened in my life) lol. #sexy

ANYWAY!
this post is about a random topic that just came across that I thought it would be a good idea to discuss about it.

As you already know, my writing style is not as fancy as iggy azalea, do-that-do-that wtf
not a very active person, not well dressed, not very outgoing, not very good in socialising, ....
all in all,
a kampung guy.

and I can see a lot of people out there are classy in nature.
I have been trying very hard to be acting more classy as far as I am concious. fml lol
trying to talk very carefully, trying to dress better, trying to act better, trying to make friend with cool kids, trying to pick up spoon and forks carefully in a restaurant...

NO, IT'S NOT WORKING *pat my back & wipe tears

at the end of the day this is still not my thing.
I don't feel comfortable doing it and to be surrounded by this unfamiliar environment.
I know that people around has always been brainwashed with the fact that to act more classy is more favoured by the society,
but in my mind, kampung guy can be classy too.
at least in their own way of 'classy'

just don't too overly 'la la' can already lah..

look at me,
at least I am quite a 'classy kampung guy' right.

deep in my heart I still have high hope,
when the time is right, I believe a suitable kampung girl will eventually meet this kampung boy! *raise fist

Introvert

writing this random blog post...
after playing piano and guitar...
sitting in my room...
listening to indie music...
chilling...
never have to think of anything when stressing out at work...
never have to think of communicating with people with different thought and attitude...

when people say "get a life"...
it all depends on how people define life...

life can be so complicated
and can be as simple and easy as that

which I enjoy it so much.
wish everyday could be like this.

Sandals

So the other day I had dinner with my family in a shopping mall. After dinner we walked around window shopping since we were so full. My mum and sis went to the ladies shoes department. I decided to just wander around the men shoes department.

woooooooooo, what a nice pair of sandals.
It is about time to replace my old torn Asadi sandals already!
Tried it on.
Looking good!
Flipped it back to check the tag.

damn.

Put it back on the rack.

Is it only me or all the things now are so pricey!
The cheapest pair of sandals now cost around RM50-ish!

As I carefully put back the expensive sandals to the shoe rack, I saw a white hair old lady at the other side sitting on the chair trying out a new pair of shoes.

Her old husband was just opposite of her carrying her bag.
She bent down slowly while putting on the new shoes.

She put on that shoes and decided to stand up and walk a circle to test the comfort of the shoes. Her husband look at her all the way as she walks.
She came back and sit back down on the chair and asked the opinion of her husband while showing uncertainty on her face.
The shoes seems expensive hence the hesitancy.
Her husband patiently talk to her sounded like if she like the pair of shoes she could just buy it.

The salesman stand there resting his head on his hand on the shoes rack showing impatience to them.
The old lady hesitantly take off the shoes again and put back on to try it on again.
Still looking undecided.

I went away after I received a call from my parents.
I am not sure if they bought the shoes.
But this old couples has made me think of so many things.

Where are their children?
Why is her daughter not beside her?
Their son busy working?

This little scene just reminded me how important for us as a son or daughter to always be thoughtful and to care more about our family.

I am studying in Serdang currently.
While some of my friends came from outside the state do not have the opportunity to always go back to see their family, I feel so blessed I have the freedom to always go back to my home.

One thing I like to remind to myself is that as we are busy growing up, our parents are busy growing old too.
That is why I always love to spend time with my family, talk to my parents, on all sort of things happened in my life, and to listen how they have been in their life too.

Cos I know how limited my time is.
This feeling strikes me more especially when I started my industrial training last 2 weeks ago.
My internship so far was fruitful.
I have learnt so much in the past couple of weeks.
It makes me realise how busy I might be in the future when building my career.
A lot of people really work hard to earn their living.
Came early for work, back home late cos work.
Spent more than 9 hours on office, stuck in traffic for 2 hours, 4 hours left for family before going to bed, already all mentally and physically tired.
And of course this is the price we should pay for building up the career, but to maintain it, or to be excel in it, requires more restless days.
Where is the time else we left for our family right.
What else that is uncertain is the working place I will go in my future.

Down to the point is, it is still up to us if we want to spend out some time with family.
But for me, family is my everything.

*knock knock
ehhh jieeee ah,
buy me a new pair of sandals now.
Right now!
lol
*picture is for illustration purpose only lolol he is my friend's father lol fhl

Publishing a book?

I enjoy blogging.
But I don't publicise my blog.
The first reason is that this blog is not for everybody's attention. (at this moment)
If I knew that some particular person is reading, I would have write it in a more cautious way. which I don't wish it to be that way.
When the right time is here, someday in the future, I will publicise it.

I always wanted to write about what is happening in my university life. (to be more precise, my course) So many stories that are so raw and original. Yet, they are so dramatic. So interesting that even I can make it to a harry-potter-thick book that can be arranged on the best-seller bookshelf in Popular. (hahaha, chehhhh)

just wait for it.

The Serigala of Jalan Dinding

I see myself as a very artistic person.
I love music, I love movie and I also love both of them combine = musical.
I watch Disney animation when I was small. I guess that is how the artistic seed planted inside of me.
Ever since Disney's Frozen was out, everyone came to me and ask me to watch it. Apparently everyone knows I will like it. And then when I finally got the chance to watch it on my lappy, it turns out I really love it! Who doesn't enjoy watching a Disney animation? NO ONE!

Thanks to some of my friends I mix with, I get to know more about how to judge the "good" or "bad" of a movie. How to be more picky and demanding on choosing a good movie.
Sort of.

I used to think that Hollywood movie were all good. Good in script, good in quality, good in acting, good in plot. But after listening to the very-often-and-loud movie discussion that some of my friends always had in the lecture room, I started to get brainwashed a little. wtf

There are a lot of crappy Hollywood movies out there.
Sudden realisation! I have watched several of them in the cinema before.

Due to them, I started to watch more award-winning movies than before. Most of the movies were introduced by them. Most of them are guaranteed to be boring/not so commercialised.
But I enjoyed watching some of them.

Silver Linings Playbook was awesome.
Jennifer Lawrence was awesome. Bradley Cooper was awesome.
end of comment.
nah... cos I watched it quite long time ago already, forgotten almost half of the story, but what I am impressed about is the acting of both the main characters. #applause

The latest movie I watched was the academy-award-nominated movie The Wolf of Wall Street.
Lately the internet has been bombarded with the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio for not winning the Best Male Actor in the Oscar for his role in the movie. This makes me wanted to watch it even more.
This movie is almost 3 freaking hours long!
and I enjoyed watching every second of it.
The storyline was about a stockbroker convicting fraud crimes related to stock market manipulation.

just 1 word to describe the movie : very-testosterone-boosting
I mean, just to be fair, I'm not just mentioning about all the naked ladies that will appear almost after 15 minutes of every scenes; and not only about all the foul words that were added before any adjective in almost all the dialogue in the script;
but more on how Jordan Belfort in dealing with his plan, and his life.
So daring yet so motivational in a way.
weird enough huh?

But if I have a life like this, I won't decline the offer when people request it to make it as a movie though. So dramatic! wtf
No fancy CG, with powerful plot, audience will always stick their eyes to the screen.
and yes, please give this poor guy a fucking Oscar,
because he fucking deserved it.

5 Countries 7 Cities in 18 days (Part IV)

I am trying very very hard to recall how was my trip already. But I don't want this series of posts to hang in the middle and left unfinished. And since this is holiday week and I am too free to not update the rest of my trip.
I am going to just bring up some pictures and short description though... old liao cannot remember much liao.

So we were already in Italy.
Then we went north up to Pisa where the Pisa tower is located.
Our transportation was by long-distance train.
But to get to Pisa tower in Pisa, we have to take public bus.
Pisa is a very small and quiet town. Not as busy as Rome.

Notice all the tourists there.. posing the same pattern. "so this is thriller... thriller night!"

Pisa Tower

Pisa Tower

We didn't went up to the tower though. Cos first thing is that we were already tired like mad; Not enough sleep; entrance fee is quite costly; and.... SUMMER HERE IS FREAKING HOT! The summer in Europe ain't no place like Malaysia. The air is dry and hot.  Be aware of it if you wish to travel around in the summer.

I think the not so good thing about backpacking also is that you didn't get to know the story behind every of this spot. What you can do is you either do some research on the internet first, or open your ears wide and sneak in to a tourist group and listen to their tour guide's explanation. That's what I did. = ='' wtf

The next stop was Milan. The high-fashioned city! Bam! All the high-end 'atas-atas' brands are all here. Even the air I breathe in I also thought it was expensive. #deepbreathe #expensivelungs #imsupermodel wtf

Milan

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II - the shopping heaven for the rich. Left Prada right LV

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

But if you plan to buy a high-end branded bag, this place is good as you get to have tax refund.

So since we were already there, sis and mum decided to get into the LV, Prada and Chanel store to check it out. It is insanely huge inside. And I've noticed that even in the store in Milan, or any other places like in Paris, surely they will have a Chinese salesperson to assist you. Why? Cos Chinese tourists are rich! I mean Chinese as in the China Chinese. SO, They need to have a chinese speaker in order to boost their sales. Talk about money making!! BAM!

What even funnier is that these Chinese tourists they even bring their own printed catalogue along, with all the research readily done. Buying branded bags was like buying fishes and vegetable in pasar malam. My mum even got pointed by them for choosing the right bag. "No, this one not nice, you see the other one got extra strap and extra zipper!" @@''

Xie xie ni auntie... *walk away*

The buses here in Italy are weird in some way. Cos they take passengers without checking their ticket.
Sometimes even their public train, you can see some of the people here would cross to the gate without inserting their train ticket to the machine. They don't check. They just don't care if they have some people don't pay for their train fee I guess.

Milan's famous bakery - Luini

Cheese + ham ! Still hot in the inside! Yum!

Italian Gelato! YUM!

You see, I was always sticking in the group of Asian people all the time throughout the whole trip and I don't really get to talk to local people in oversea. One thing is that we have language/communication barrier. The other thing is that when they saw a group of Asian family hanging around there will be no local people want to approach to you. And I guess this is the least thing I can appreciate from this group trip.
So I am definitely surprised while I was waiting to cross the road to the other side bus stop, there was a couple standing next to me asked me whether am I came from Japan. LOL. This was exception cos I was standing quite far away from my company group. *trying to be rebellious for a moment LOL* no la it just happened when I stand a little further nia lah, no other intention.
He shook hand with me.
So I replied with a smile, "No" I said. "I am from Malaysia" (proud Malaysian cheh)
do he even know where is Malaysia? I wonder
He just acted like he know, and being friendly and ask me another question, "Do you play football? like soccer?"
I was like hell yeah! *success baby* Nobody even think I am good in sport. I can't even convinced people with this look! LOL!
I laughed. "No. Haha."
"You know Milan Football Club? There is a famous stadium around here." He told me, while holding his girlfriend's hand. And I can't help it but to peek at his girlfriend for two seconds. She just stand there smiled at me. Ang Mo!!! Maybe she thought I was a cute Japanese guy. Konichiwa! Sushi Tempura Heeeeeeeey!
Then my sister wave at me to ask me to come back to the group. She afraid I will get robbed/cheated as I mentioned before, this place is not the safest city in the world.
:((
"Hey, I got to go", I waved goodbye and run back to the group.

HAHA. I don't know but just feel like telling it here. I came back Malaysia and brag about it to my friends tho. HAHAH cos people don't normally think I can play football. fml

Random book stall/library

That's about it. Italy ain't no the safest city in the world. Even when you are in a group. Take care of yourself and always be aware of the people surrounding if you wish to backpack to this place.
Milan Cathedral - Duomo di Milano
(Day view)

Milan Cathedral - Duomo di Milano
(Night view)

Then the next day overnight in Milan, we travel to Venice.
Stay tuned for more.

Weiii!! ask you to take picture of me not them!

The First Half

Just a blink of eyes, I have survived through the first half of my 6th semester. Time past so fast that I don't even realise that I am already in the holiday week. wtf

So glad that my friend brought his car over from this semester onward. Finally get to travel around places near the university and explore to some new places in Sri Kembangan. Not that I don't have any other friends who didn't bring their car.... but...
thing is hard to explain.  wtf
Anyway, some of us have decided to share part of the oil expenses also la. Pity him for bringing his car all the way from Chemoh and still have to bring us around. fhl
To recap the entire 7 weeks of this semester:

went to new places to taste some tasty local delicacies
Spinach noodles with milky ginger-ish soup!

Fish head bi hoon and 'mice tails'

"When buying people dinner, make sure you buy dinners for people who have bigger dreams than you, and work harder than you." - Li Ka Shing
Won in a contest during semester break and decided to share it out with friends who helped me along throughout these years.
disclaimer: yeah, in fact there are more people who has helped me, just wait for it okay. I won't forget those dinners I owe you!

As usual, Yin Zi FTW. Due to occasional busy schedule, it's very hard for me to join them. This is the regret but yarh, this year their song composing competition was so great. Love all their music arrangement and all their well-known celebrity judges! Harsh and mean but who cares? We audience enjoyed it!

First time ever went to Kajang to taste their satay. I love satay and I don't think any satay will goes wrong

Coursemates came to Klang again. I can now officially declare myself as a professional Klang tour guide. BKT -> I-City -> Dessert
3D paint art. RM10 burnt!

trying to pose like a cool angel, but angel ain't wear spec!

#selfieangel

weird painting in a way. why la batman has to follow Robin from behind? can't you see the rope is damn thin to support the overweight-looking batman. #superherowithnosuperpower

MILK!!! look at my thick tongue wtf #notporn

That was how my first half of semester went.

Not sure is it only me or also the entire whole male human population, I realise that it is pretty hard to do multiple tasking at one freaking time. Especially when one thing is on pending and I started to become very bo sim to do other thing. This freaking semester is for us to decide our compulsory practical training placement. Going through lots of lots of interview sessions + replying lots of lots of e-mail sometime makes me divert my focus on my test 1 a little bit. But thanks to ti gong and guan yin ma, I have been offered to several companies, and I have decided my placement. #blessed

Second half of my semester is all about project coursework and assignment. And not to forget brushing up my carry mark. I guess this is chasing materialistic thing in another way right? fml (I rather to chase after iPad and iPhone)

Last advice to myself and to y'all that even bother to read this: work is endless, plan ahead of how your life is going to be, but be realistic at the same time, then thing will goes well.

OHM!
Sifu aH Wai.
