aH Wai: The Coffee Bean of Việt Nam

I love to travel.

I went to a few places with my family in this few years.

This time - Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City).

From Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh, it took around 1 hour 30 minutes flight only.

Mekong Delta

Vietnam is a developing country like Malaysia. As one of the country in the South East Asia, the weather in Ho Chi Minh is just as hot as in Klang.

First impression of Vietnam - Motorcyclists everywhere on the road, female motorcyclists as the majority. Motorcycle is the most used transportation by the Vietnamese as the price of petrol and the price of car is high. It's pretty hard to be a safe pedestrian here, unless you are skillful enough to cross the road. If not, do not take the risk!

There are always something to represent a country. In Malaysia, we have ~~corruption, ISA, bad attitude~~ Nasi Lemak, Bah Kut Teh, Laksa and more. No doubt, in Vietnam, their Vietnam-style coffee and beef noodles are their signature food. My family and I can't take beef due to our religion belief so we ate chicken noodles instead of beef noodles.

We went to the Cu Chi tunnel to experience the web-like tunnels system of more than 200km in length which used to be the shelters of guerrillas during the war against American troops in Vietnam. They made these tunnels because they thought American troops were big in size and only Vietnamese can fit into the tunnel and so American couldn't find them during the war. How smart? Read back our Malaysian history, those "Pahlawan" were only busy fighting for position, even now. I only dig into the 4m-length tunnel. Hot and smelly.

We also went to some other places like Mekong river, war museum, the Red Cathedral, old post office, and Ben Thanh market. Yeah, "ben dan" market. Merchants there are scary! They can grab your hand and shout to you in Vietnamese language asking you to buy their stuff whenever you walk pass their store. Things there are cheap though.
