Beyond The Four Walls of the Lecture Room

So one day my friends were in my room again for chit chating session.
They usually will talk about something that does not interest me much. Then this guy started to talk about how when he was little he likes to dismantle his toy car and look at how the mechanical part works, and reassemble back after modification. All of the sudden the rest of my friends join in and say they were doing the same thing when they were still young. and the discussion went on and on...

wtf
Nope.

Don't look at me.

"I used to own a toy car of course!"

I just don't like to dismantle the toy car and freak out when it does not move anymore after I reassemble it back.

TOY CARS ARE EXPENSIVE!

what I like to play with most of my McDonald's Disney toys is to create a story for them. Let all the character from different storyline to blend in into my imagination.
I draw decorative ~ plants! buildings! school buses! so that my story looks more real!
hahaha wtf

talk to this bunch of engineer friends makes me look extraordinary.
I have already knew it since the first day of my study in UPM taking up this course.

I prefer reading interesting stories, listening to new songs, talking crap with friends..
But being super realistic, I realise how important taking up useful degree major can get me a more secure career in the future.
That is the reason why until now I still don't feel regret taking up something that I don't particularly enjoy.

Career talk after career talk after career talk, I have learned how demanding this field is, and how competitive it is. and thanks to our faculty, that has created quite many opportunities for us to expose to these motivating events.

But somehow after four years of study, being a super 0% dummy about circuitry fundamental, Electrical and Electronic Engineering this course has done several knowledge injections to me and has already make me wanted to be more aware and concern about the happenings in this field.

Engineering in this campus, in my opinion is good.
They offers a lot of facilities that it is up to you to explore.
Student activities? yes.
Career opportunity? yes.
Overseas exchange opportunities? sure. just ask and apply!
Environment wise, ...?
Environment as in a lot of trees, lake side library, air conditioning in lecture room/hall, is superb.
but environment as in people in this faculty? hmmm.. it is up to you to decide. of course there are few of them in the circle are very competitive, which is good, cos all we want is to get influence by each other of this 'competitiveness' or 'positive mindset'.

other than that, being in the final year final semester in UPM, it makes me realise I have learned something so much else beyond this.
Here is to name a few:

1. Too much group photos

From first year till final year. lol
from photo after photo

group photo

group photo

 another group photo
and another 300 more group photos with coursemates. lol

2. The ultimate "scissors"/"peace" hand sign is the ultimate photo posing sign

even when they are drunk. still remember the scissors.

scissors

scissors

after scissors

3. Not knowing how to dress up ourselves
First world problem in engineering faculty worldwide? I suppose haha LOL
but taste getting better compare to first year la hahahaha (with guilt*)

4. Apparently Facebook is your working place
we are on there almost more than 12 hours a day.

we discuss assignment and report announcement there! No FB you will stuck in another class. Serious!

5. You take a long nap. like a really loooong nap..
"har kah wai?? you are not napping today? this is weird! I better buy lottery!"

6. You know your university is not so 'advance' when they proudly say that your residential college is the only hostel that has elevator. and people proudly cheer to this matter. "OHHHHH!! ELEVATOR!! AUMMMMM KOLEJ 10!"

7. You learn how to help people wipe their asses.
group work. tonnes of shit. everyone knows that.

8. You learn how to wipe one's shoes.
Apparently people freak out when I say 40% weightage for final exam is our score allocation standard. The rest are assignments and tests. and you will learn very well how to get the 60%.

just saying. lol

9. Night life? too luxurious for us! milo ais.. yes please.

10. We work on the very last minute. literally the last minute.
we are productive like that.
panda eyes everyone!

other than that,
what I've learnt the most is, my university life is quite awesome lah.

side note:
trying to clear up all the draft post (about my university life) that I have saved/written since long time ago..
started my working life already and will blog about it soon..
new phase of my life..
where the people surrounding me (i.e. my colleagues) are all talking about mid-life crisis and stuff.

=.=''

ish..
